Adelaide Climate Action Week (ACAW) gathers on the lands of the Kaurna people, and across the many Countries of First Nations peoples throughout what is now called South Australia. We acknowledge their deep and unbroken connection to land, sky, water and all living things — a relationship of custodianship and care that spans tens of thousands of years and holds profound wisdom for how we face the climate challenges of today.
We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples joining us across this great southern state. We recognise that caring for Country is not a historical act — it is living, active and essential. First Nations knowledge, leadership and voice are central to ACAW, not an addition to it.
Always was, always will be.
